महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-10, verse-23

इन्द्रोपमान्पार्थिवपुत्रपौत्रान्पश्याविशेषेण हतान्प्रमादात् ।
तीर्त्वा समुद्रं वणिजः समृद्धाः सन्नाः कुनद्यामिव हेलमानाः ।
अमर्षितैर्ये निहताः शयाना निःसंशयं ते त्रिदिवं प्रपन्नाः ॥२३॥
23. indropamānpārthivaputrapautrā;npaśyāviśeṣeṇa hatānpramādāt ,
tīrtvā samudraṁ vaṇijaḥ samṛddhāḥ; sannāḥ kunadyāmiva helamānāḥ ,
amarṣitairye nihatāḥ śayānā; niḥsaṁśayaṁ te tridivaṁ prapannāḥ.
23. indropamān pārthivaputrapautrān paśya aviśeṣeṇa
hatān pramādāt tīrtvā samudram vaṇijaḥ samṛddhāḥ
sannāḥ kunadyām iva helamānāḥ amarṣitaiḥ ye
nihatāḥ śayānāḥ niḥsaṃśayam te tridivam prapannāḥ
23. paśya pramādāt aviśeṣeṇa hatān indropamān
pārthivaputrapautrān samṛddhāḥ vaṇijaḥ samudram tīrtvā
helamānāḥ kunadyām iva sannāḥ ye amarṣitaiḥ
nihatāḥ śayānāḥ te niḥsaṃśayam tridivam prapannāḥ
23. Behold these royal sons and grandsons, mighty like Indra, slain indiscriminately due to recklessness! They are like prosperous merchants who, having successfully crossed the vast ocean, carelessly drown in a small, wretched river. Without a doubt, those who were killed by the enraged (Pandavas) and now lie dead have attained heaven.
