महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-203, verse-25

महेन्द्रस्यापि नेत्राणां पार्श्वतः पृष्ठतोऽग्रतः ।
रक्तान्तानां विशालानां सहस्रं सर्वतोऽभवत् ॥२५॥
25. mahendrasyāpi netrāṇāṁ pārśvataḥ pṛṣṭhato'grataḥ ,
raktāntānāṁ viśālānāṁ sahasraṁ sarvato'bhavat.
25. mahendrasya api netrāṇām pārśvataḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ agrataḥ
raktāntānām viśālānām sahasram sarvataḥ abhavat
25. Even a thousand large, red-cornered eyes, like those of Mahendra (Indra), came into being on all sides – from his sides, from behind, and from the front.
