महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-134, verse-7

नगराधिकृतानां च गृहाणि रथिनां तथा ।
उपतस्थुर्नरश्रेष्ठा वैश्यशूद्रगृहानपि ॥७॥
7. nagarādhikṛtānāṁ ca gṛhāṇi rathināṁ tathā ,
upatasthurnaraśreṣṭhā vaiśyaśūdragṛhānapi.
7. nagarādhikṛtānām ca gṛhāṇi rathinām tathā
upatasthuḥ naraśreṣṭhāḥ vaiśyaśūdragṛhān api
7. The best among men (naraśreṣṭhāḥ) also approached the houses of the city officials, of the charioteers, and even the houses of the Vaiśyas and Śūdras.
