महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-134, verse-13

तत्त्वगारमभिप्रेक्ष्य सर्वधर्मविशारदः ।
उवाचाग्नेयमित्येवं भीमसेनं युधिष्ठिरः ।
जिघ्रन्सोम्य वसागन्धं सर्पिर्जतुविमिश्रितम् ॥१३॥
13. tattvagāramabhiprekṣya sarvadharmaviśāradaḥ ,
uvācāgneyamityevaṁ bhīmasenaṁ yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ,
jighransomya vasāgandhaṁ sarpirjatuvimiśritam.

uvāca āgneyam iti evam
bhīmasenam yudhiṣṭhiraḥ jighran saumya
vasā-gandham sarpirjatu-vimiśritam
13. Yudhishthira, skilled in all matters of (dharma), after closely examining that house, said to Bhimasena, 'O gentle one, by smelling the odor of fat mixed with ghee and lac, one can tell that this house is indeed meant to be set on fire.'
