वैशंपायन उवाच ।
ततः सत्यवती काले वधूं स्नातामृतौ तदा ।
संवेशयन्ती शयने शनकैर्वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥१॥

1. Vaiśampāyana said: Then, at the appropriate time, Satyavatī, while gently settling her daughter-in-law—who had just bathed after her menstrual period—onto the bed, slowly spoke these words.
