tataḥ devī-śarīrāt tu viniṣkrāntā ati-bhīṣaṇā

Then, from the body of the Goddess, emerged the extremely terrifying, exceedingly fierce power (śakti) of Caṇḍikā, whose roar was like that of a hundred jackals.
