दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-8, verse-50

तस्याहतस्य बहुधा शक्तिशूलादिभिर्बुवि ।
पपात यो वै रक्तौघस्तेनासञ्छतशोऽसुराः ॥५०॥
50. tasyāhatasya bahudhā śaktiśūlādibhirbuvi .
papāta yo vai raktaughastenāsañchataśo'surāḥ.
50. tasya āhatasya bahudhā śaktiśūlādibhiḥ bhuvi
papāta yaḥ vai raktaughaḥ tena āsan śataśaḥ asurāḥ
50. When he (Raktabīja) was struck multiple times by various weapons like spears and lances, the stream of blood that fell to the earth indeed gave rise to hundreds of demons from it.
