दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-13, verse-4

इति चिन्तयतस्तस्य मतिर्जाता महात्मनः ।
तपसाराधयाम्येनं ब्रह्माणं कमलोद्भवम् ॥४॥
4. iti cintayatastasya matirjātā mahātmanaḥ .
tapasārādhayāmyenaṃ brahmāṇaṃ kamalodbhavam.
4. iti cintayataḥ tasya matiḥ jātā mahātmanaḥ
tapasā ārādhayāmi enam brahmāṇam kamalodbhavam
4. As that great-souled (mahātman) one pondered thus, a thought arose in his mind: 'I shall propitiate the lotus-born Brahmā through severe asceticism (tapas).'
