दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-13, verse-36

पूज्या द्विजानां कुमुदेन्दुभासो ये क्षत्रियाणां च नवार्कवर्णाः ।
तथा विशां ये कनकावदाता नीलीनिभाः शूद्रजनस्य ये च ॥३६॥
36. pūjyā dvijānāṃ kumudendubhāso ye kṣatriyāṇāṃ ca navārkavarṇāḥ .
tathā viśāṃ ye kanakāvadātā nīlīnibhāḥ śūdrajanasya ye ca.
36. pūjyāḥ dvijānām kumudendubhāsaḥ

36. Those ancestors (pitṛ) who are revered by the Brahmins (dvija) have the radiance of a water lily and the moon. And those of the Kṣatriyas have the color of the newly risen sun. Similarly, those of the Vaiśyas are golden-white, and those of the Śūdra class (śūdra) resemble indigo.
