योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-133, verse-1

विपश्चिदुवाच ।
कस्मिंश्चिदन्यत्र जगत्यपूर्वे दृष्टं मयेदं श्रृणु किं विचित्रम् ।
महाघवृत्तान्तदशासमानमविद्ययान्धेन बलात्कृतं यत् ॥ १ ॥

kasmiṃścidanyatra jagatyapūrve dṛṣṭaṃ mayedaṃ śrṛṇu kiṃ vicitram ,
mahāghavṛttāntadaśāsamānamavidyayāndhena balātkṛtaṃ yat 1
1. vipaścit uvāca kasmin cit anyatra
jagati apūrve dṛṣṭam mayā idam śṛṇu
kim vicitram mahāghavṛttāntadaśāsamānam
avidyayā andhena balātkṛtam yat
1. vipaścit uvāca: śṛṇu! mayā kasmin cit anyatra apūrve jagati idam dṛṣṭam.
kim vicitram (tat) yat andhena avidyayā mahāghavṛttāntadaśāsamānam balātkṛtam.
1. The wise one said: "Listen! I witnessed something extraordinary elsewhere in an unprecedented world. How strange it was: a situation that was forcefully brought about by a blind (being) and by ignorance (avidyā), akin to the state of a grave misfortune."
