इति भूयो दृढं बद्धस्तेन हस्तिपकेन सः ।
तिष्ठत्यद्यापि दुःखेन भूसद्मनि यथा बलिः ॥ २७ ॥

Thus, repeatedly and firmly bound by that elephant-keeper, he (the elephant) remains, even today, in distress within an underground dwelling, just as Bali (the demon king) remains [imprisoned].
