स खातवलयं चक्रे हस्तिपः काननेऽभितः ।
सर्वदिक्कं विधिर्भूमौ समुद्रवलयं यथा ॥ २३ ॥

23. The elephant keeper created a surrounding circle of pits in the forest, extending in all directions, just as creation (vidhi) makes the encircling oceans on the earth.
