योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-2, chapter-7, verse-4

संवित्स्पन्दो मनःस्पन्द ऐन्द्रियस्पन्द एव च ।
एतानि पुरुषार्थस्य रूपाण्येभ्यः फलोदयः ॥ ४ ॥
saṃvitspando manaḥspanda aindriyaspanda eva ca ,
etāni puruṣārthasya rūpāṇyebhyaḥ phalodayaḥ 4

4. The stirring of consciousness, the stirring of the mind, and the stirring of the senses are indeed the forms of human endeavor (puruṣārtha). From these arises the fruition (of actions).
