योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-9

श्रीब्रह्मोवाच ।
गुरुं वाल्मीकिमत्राशु प्रार्थयस्व प्रयत्नतः ।
तेनेदं यत्समारब्धं रामायणमनिन्दितम् ॥ ९ ॥
śrībrahmovāca ,
guruṃ vālmīkimatrāśu prārthayasva prayatnataḥ ,
tenedaṃ yatsamārabdhaṃ rāmāyaṇamaninditam 9
9. śrībrahmā uvāca gurum vālmīkim atra āśu prārthayasva
prayatnataḥ tena idam yat samārabhdham rāmāyaṇam aninditam
9. Lord Brahmā said: 'Here, quickly and diligently implore your preceptor (guru) Vālmīki. For this blameless Rāmāyaṇa was commenced by him.'
