एतदुक्तं भगवता यथा रामायणं कुरु ।
सर्वलोकहितार्थाय संसारार्णवतारकम् ॥ १९ ॥

Bharadvaja said: "This has been declared by the venerable one, 'Compose the Ramayana for the welfare of all beings, for it is that which enables one to cross the ocean of transmigration (saṃsāra).'
