वाल्मीकि-रामायणम् vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-97, verse-20

तस्य हस्ताद्धतस्याशु कार्मुकं तत् ससायकम् ।

20. As he was quickly struck down, that bow, complete with arrows, fell from his hand. His vital breaths (prāṇa) also departed, as he was slipping away from existence.
