वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-15, verse-5

तत् स्वभावो ममाप्येष यदगाधो ऽहमप्लवः ।
विकारस्तु भवेद् राध एतत्ते प्रवदाम्यहम् ॥५॥
5. tat svabhāvo mamāpyeṣa yadagādho'hamaplavaḥ ,
vikārastu bhaved rādha etatte pravadāmyaham.

vikāraḥ tu bhavet rādha etat te pravadāmi aham
5. rādha,
eṣaḥ mama api svabhāvaḥ (asti).

5. This is indeed my intrinsic nature (svabhāva), that I am unfathomable (agādha) and cannot be swum across (aplava). But, O Rāma, any alteration would be a modification (vikāra) of this; this I declare to you.
