वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-40, verse-10

अहमप्यस्य भीतास्मि नैनं जानामि को ऽन्वयम् ।
वेद्मि राक्षसमेवैनं कामरूपिणमागतम् ॥१०॥
10. ahamapyasya bhītāsmi nainaṃ jānāmi ko'nvayam ,
vedmi rākṣasamevainaṃ kāmarūpiṇamāgatam.
10. aham api asya bhītā asmi na enam jānāmi kaḥ
anvayam vedmi rākṣasam eva enam kāmarūpiṇam āgatam
10. aham api asya bhītā asmi enam kaḥ anvayam na
jānāmi enam kāmarūpiṇam āgatam rākṣasam eva vedmi
10. I am also afraid of him. I do not know his lineage. I perceive him as a demon (rākṣasa) who has come assuming any form he wishes.
