वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-19, verse-18

मित्रमौपयिकं कर्तुं रामः स्थानं परीप्सता ।
वधं चानिच्छता घोरं त्वयासौ पुरुषर्षभः ॥१८॥
18. mitramaupayikaṃ kartuṃ rāmaḥ sthānaṃ parīpsatā ,
vadhaṃ cānicchatā ghoraṃ tvayāsau puruṣarṣabhaḥ.
18. mitram aupayikam kartum rāmaḥ sthānam parīpsatā |
vadham ca anicchatā ghoram tvayā asau puruṣarṣabhaḥ
18. puruṣarṣabhaḥ tvayā sthānam parīpsatā ca ghoram

18. O best among men (puruṣarṣabha), by you, who desires to secure your position and does not wish for a terrible destruction, that Rama should be made a suitable ally.
