वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-29, verse-9

नागः शत्रुं जयो नाम मातुलो यं ददौ मम ।
तं ते गजसहस्रेण ददामि द्विजपुंगव ॥९॥
9. nāgaḥ śatruṃ jayo nāma mātulo yaṃ dadau mama ,
taṃ te gajasahasreṇa dadāmi dvijapuṃgava.

9. O best among Brahmins (dvijapuṅgava), I give you that elephant named Śatruñjaya, which my maternal uncle gave to me, and which is worth a thousand elephants.
