वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-66, verse-8

इदं धनुर्वरं ब्रह्मञ्जनकैरभिपूजितम् ।
राजभिश्च महावीर्यैरशक्यं पूरितुं तदा ॥८॥
8. idaṃ dhanurvaraṃ brahmañjanakairabhipūjitam ,
rājabhiśca mahāvīryairaśakyaṃ pūrituṃ tadā.

rājabhiḥ ca mahāvīryaiḥ aśakyam pūrayitum tadā

8. O Brahmin, this excellent bow was revered by the Janakas (ancestors of Janaka) and by mighty kings, yet even they were unable to string it at that time.
