अप्येवं पाण्डव प्राणानुत्सृजेयमहं युधि ।
प्रतीयां नाहमाचार्यं त्वां न जह्यां कथंचन ॥८॥

8. apyevaṁ pāṇḍava prāṇānutsṛjeyamahaṁ yudhi ,
pratīyāṁ nāhamācāryaṁ tvāṁ na jahyāṁ kathaṁcana.

8. Even if I were to give up my lives (prāṇān) in battle, O Pāṇḍava, I would not acknowledge that teacher (ācāryam) [Karna], nor would I ever forsake you.
