महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-123, verse-27

शमं चेद्याचमानं त्वं प्रत्याख्यास्यसि केशवम् ।
त्वदर्थमभिजल्पन्तं न तवास्त्यपराभवः ॥२७॥
27. śamaṁ cedyācamānaṁ tvaṁ pratyākhyāsyasi keśavam ,
tvadarthamabhijalpantaṁ na tavāstyaparābhavaḥ.
27. śamam cet yācamānam tvam pratyākhyāsyasi keśavam
tvadartham abhijalpantam na tava asti aparābhavaḥ
27. If you reject Keśava [Kṛṣṇa], who is asking for peace (śama) and speaking on your behalf, then it is not that you will escape defeat (i.e., you will certainly face defeat).
