महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-66, verse-21

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
ततो विराटः परमाभितुष्टः समेत्य राज्ञा समयं चकार ।
राज्यं च सर्वं विससर्ज तस्मै सदण्डकोशं सपुरं महात्मा ॥२१॥
21. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
tato virāṭaḥ paramābhituṣṭaḥ; sametya rājñā samayaṁ cakāra ,
rājyaṁ ca sarvaṁ visasarja tasmai; sadaṇḍakośaṁ sapuraṁ mahātmā.

21. Vaiśampaāyana said: Then, King Virata, exceedingly pleased, made an agreement with King Yudhishthira after meeting him. That great-souled (mahātmā) one relinquished to him the entire kingdom, along with its army, treasury, and cities.
