महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-42, verse-31

गावश्चैव प्रतिष्ठन्तां सेनां व्यूहन्तु माचिरम् ।
आरक्षाश्च विधीयन्तां यत्र योत्स्यामहे परान् ॥३१॥

31. Let the cows be secured, and let the army be arrayed without delay. Guards should also be appointed where we are to fight the enemies.
