महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-51, verse-8

स संनिपातयामास महीपालान्विशां पते ।
अनुभूयतामयं वीराः स्वयंवर इति प्रभो ॥८॥
8. sa saṁnipātayāmāsa mahīpālānviśāṁ pate ,
anubhūyatāmayaṁ vīrāḥ svayaṁvara iti prabho.

anubhūyatām ayam vīrāḥ svayaṃvaraḥ iti prabho
8. O ruler of men, he assembled the kings, proclaiming, 'O heroes, let this self-choice marriage (svayaṃvara) be observed!'
