महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-39, verse-5

अत्यद्भुतं महाप्राज्ञ रोमहर्षणमर्जुनः ।
भवेन सह संग्रामं चकाराप्रतिमं किल ।
पुरा प्रहरतां श्रेष्ठः संग्रामेष्वपराजितः ॥५॥
5. atyadbhutaṁ mahāprājña romaharṣaṇamarjunaḥ ,
bhavena saha saṁgrāmaṁ cakārāpratimaṁ kila ,
purā praharatāṁ śreṣṭhaḥ saṁgrāmeṣvaparājitaḥ.

5. O greatly wise one, it is indeed exceedingly wonderful and hair-raising that Arjuna (arjuna) fought an unparalleled battle (saṃgrāma) with Bhava (Śiva). Formerly, he was the foremost among fighters, undefeated in battles (saṃgrāma).
