महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-291, verse-14

नाधर्मश्चरितः कश्चित्त्वया भवति भामिनि ।
अधर्मं कुत एवाहं चरेयं लोककाम्यया ॥१४॥
14. nādharmaścaritaḥ kaścittvayā bhavati bhāmini ,
adharmaṁ kuta evāhaṁ careyaṁ lokakāmyayā.
14. na adharmaḥ caritaḥ kaścit tvayā bhavati bhāmini
adharmam kutaḥ eva aham careyam lokakāmyayā
14. Oh beautiful lady (bhāmini), no unrighteous act (adharma) has been done by you. How then could I commit an unrighteous act (adharma) out of desire for people (lokakāmyayā)?
