महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-291, verse-1

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
सा तु कन्या बहुविधं ब्रुवन्ती मधुरं वचः ।
अनुनेतुं सहस्रांशुं न शशाक मनस्विनी ॥१॥
1. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
sā tu kanyā bahuvidhaṁ bruvantī madhuraṁ vacaḥ ,
anunetuṁ sahasrāṁśuṁ na śaśāka manasvinī.

madhuram vacaḥ anunetum sahasrāṃśum na śaśāka manasvinī
1. Vaiśampāyana said: But that spirited maiden, even while speaking many kinds of sweet words, was unable to conciliate the sun (Sahastrāṃśu).
