महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-17, verse-6

तस्य नामाकरोत्तत्र प्रजापतिसमः पिता ।
जरया संधितो यस्माज्जरासंधस्ततोऽभवत् ॥६॥
6. tasya nāmākarottatra prajāpatisamaḥ pitā ,
jarayā saṁdhito yasmājjarāsaṁdhastato'bhavat.
6. tasya nāma akarot tatra prajāpatisamaḥ pitā
jarayā saṃdhitaḥ yasmāt jarāsaṃdhaḥ tataḥ abhavat
6. His father, who was like Prajāpati, gave him a name there. Because he was joined together by Jarā, he therefore became Jarāsandha.
