महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-15, chapter-6, verse-9

नाहं राजा भवान्राजा भवता परवानहम् ।
कथं गुरुं त्वां धर्मज्ञमनुज्ञातुमिहोत्सहे ॥९॥
9. nāhaṁ rājā bhavānrājā bhavatā paravānaham ,
kathaṁ guruṁ tvāṁ dharmajñamanujñātumihotsahe.
9. na aham rājā bhavān rājā bhavatā paravān aham |
katham gurum tvām dharma-jñam anujñātum iha utsahe
9. aham rājā na,

iha dharma-jñam tvām gurum anujñātum katham utsahe?
9. I am no king; you are the king. I am under your authority. How then can I presume to command you, my preceptor (guru) and knower of natural law (dharma)?
