महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-6, verse-7

मरुत्त उवाच ।
पित्र्यमस्मि तव क्षेत्रं बहु मन्ये च ते भृशम् ।
न चास्म्ययाज्यतां प्राप्तो भजमानं भजस्व माम् ॥७॥
7. marutta uvāca ,
pitryamasmi tava kṣetraṁ bahu manye ca te bhṛśam ,
na cāsmyayājyatāṁ prāpto bhajamānaṁ bhajasva mām.
7. maruttaḥ uvāca | pitryam asmi
tava kṣetram bahu manye ca te
bhṛśam | na ca asmi ayājyatām
prāptaḥ bhajamānam bhajasva mām
7. maruttaḥ uvāca aham tava pitryam kṣetram asmi,

7. Marutta said: 'I am your family's hereditary patron (kṣetra), and I hold you in high regard. I have not become unworthy of having a Vedic ritual (yajña) performed for me. Therefore, serve me, your devoted follower.'
