महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-8, verse-22

पुत्रवच्च ततो रक्ष्या उपास्या गुरुवच्च ते ।
अग्निवच्चोपचर्या वै ब्राह्मणाः कुरुसत्तम ॥२२॥
22. putravacca tato rakṣyā upāsyā guruvacca te ,
agnivaccopacaryā vai brāhmaṇāḥ kurusattama.
22. putravat ca tataḥ rakṣyāḥ upāsyāḥ guruvat ca te
agnivat ca upacaryāḥ vai brāhmaṇāḥ kurusattama
22. kurusattama te brāhmaṇāḥ tataḥ putravat ca rakṣyāḥ

22. O best of Kurus, they (brāhmaṇas) should therefore be protected like sons, and served like teachers (guru), and indeed, they should be attended to like fire.
