महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-8, verse-17

ब्रह्मण्य इति मामाहुस्तया वाचास्मि तोषितः ।
एतदेव पवित्रेभ्यः सर्वेभ्यः परमं स्मृतम् ॥१७॥

17. brahmaṇya iti māmāhustayā vācāsmi toṣitaḥ ,
etadeva pavitrebhyaḥ sarvebhyaḥ paramaṁ smṛtam.

17. They call me 'devoted to brahmins,' and I am pleased by that statement. This alone is considered supreme among all purifying things.
