भीष्म उवाच ।
स्पृहयामि द्विजातीनां येषां ब्रह्म परं धनम् ।
येषां स्वप्रत्ययः स्वर्गस्तपःस्वाध्यायसाधनः ॥३॥

3. bhīṣma uvāca ,
spṛhayāmi dvijātīnāṁ yeṣāṁ brahma paraṁ dhanam ,
yeṣāṁ svapratyayaḥ svargastapaḥsvādhyāyasādhanaḥ.

Bhishma said: "I indeed hold in high esteem the twice-born (dvijāti), for whom spiritual knowledge (brahman) is the highest wealth. For them, their own firm conviction is heaven, achieved through the means of austerity (tapas) and self-study (svādhyāya)."
