मतङ्ग उवाच ।
अयोनिरग्र्ययोनिर्वा यः स्यात्स कुशली भवेत् ।
कुशलं तु कुतस्तस्य यस्येयं जननी पितः ॥१९॥

ayoniragryayonirvā yaḥ syātsa kuśalī bhavet ,
kuśalaṁ tu kutastasya yasyeyaṁ jananī pitaḥ.

Matanga said: 'Whoever is either without a (worldly) origin or of the highest birth would indeed be well. But where is well-being for him, O father, whose mother is like this (i.e., of such a questionable birth)?'
