महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-18, verse-8

मध्यमानां तु नारीणां वृद्धानां चापराजित ।
आक्रन्दं हतबन्धूनां दारुणे वैशसे शृणु ॥८॥
8. madhyamānāṁ tu nārīṇāṁ vṛddhānāṁ cāparājita ,
ākrandaṁ hatabandhūnāṁ dāruṇe vaiśase śṛṇu.
8. madhyamānām tu nārīṇām vṛddhānām ca aparājita
ākrandam hatabandhūnām dāruṇe vaiśase śṛṇu
8. aparājita tu dāruṇe vaiśase madhyamānām nārīṇām
ca vṛddhānām hatabandhūnām ākrandam śṛṇu
8. O unconquered one, listen to the lamentation of the middle-aged women and the old women, whose relatives have been slain in the dreadful slaughter.
