महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-53, verse-31

सूत उवाच ।
कर्मान्तरेष्वकथयन्द्विजा वेदाश्रयाः कथाः ।
व्यासस्त्वकथयन्नित्यमाख्यानं भारतं महत् ॥३१॥
31. sūta uvāca ,
karmāntareṣvakathayandvijā vedāśrayāḥ kathāḥ ,
vyāsastvakathayannityamākhyānaṁ bhārataṁ mahat.
31. sūtaḥ uvāca karmāntareṣu akathayan dvijāḥ vedāśrayāḥ
kathāḥ vyāsaḥ tu akathayat nityam ākhyānam bhāratam mahat
31. Sūta said: During the intervals of the sacrificial rituals, the Brahmins would narrate stories based on the Vedas. However, Vyāsa, for his part, always recited the great epic Mahābhārata.
