महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-53, verse-1

सूत उवाच ।
इदमत्यद्भुतं चान्यदास्तीकस्यानुशुश्रुमः ।
तथा वरैश्छन्द्यमाने राज्ञा पारिक्षितेन ह ॥१॥
1. sūta uvāca ,
idamatyadbhutaṁ cānyadāstīkasyānuśuśrumaḥ ,
tathā varaiśchandyamāne rājñā pārikṣitena ha.
1. sūtaḥ uvāca idam atyadbhutam ca anyat āstīkasya
anuśuśrumaḥ tathā varaiḥ chandyamāne rājñā pārikṣitena ha
1. Sūta said: "We heard this other very wonderful thing about Āstīka, which occurred when King Janamejaya, son of Parīkṣita, was being implored with boons (for Āstīka to stop the sacrifice)."
