श्रुत्वा धर्मिष्ठमाख्यानमास्तीकं पुण्यवर्धनम् ।
आस्तीकस्य कवेर्विप्र श्रीमच्चरितमादितः ॥२६॥

26. O Brāhmaṇa (Sūta), having [already] heard the most righteous and merit-increasing narration concerning Astīka, I desire to hear the glorious life story of the sage Astīka from the very beginning.
