महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-53, verse-20

आस्तीक उवाच ।
सायं प्रातः सुप्रसन्नात्मरूपा लोके विप्रा मानवाश्चेतरेऽपि ।
धर्माख्यानं ये वदेयुर्ममेदं तेषां युष्मद्भ्यो नैव किंचिद्भयं स्यात् ॥२०॥
20. āstīka uvāca ,
sāyaṁ prātaḥ suprasannātmarūpā; loke viprā mānavāścetare'pi ,
dharmākhyānaṁ ye vadeyurmamedaṁ; teṣāṁ yuṣmadbhyo naiva kiṁcidbhayaṁ syāt.
20. āstīkaḥ uvāca sāyam prātaḥ suprasannātmarūpāḥ
loke viprāḥ mānavāḥ ca itare api
dharmaākhyānam ye vadeyuḥ mama idam
teṣām yuṣmadbhyaḥ na eva kiñcit bhayam syāt
20. Astika said, "Those Brahmins and other people in the world who, with serene minds, recite this religious narrative of mine both morning and evening, shall indeed have no fear whatsoever from you (serpents)."
