महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-37, verse-2

स तं कृशमभिप्रेष्क्य सूनृतां वाचमुत्सृजन् ।
अपृच्छत कथं तातः स मेऽद्य मृतधारकः ॥२॥
2. sa taṁ kṛśamabhipreṣkya sūnṛtāṁ vācamutsṛjan ,
apṛcchata kathaṁ tātaḥ sa me'dya mṛtadhārakaḥ.
2. saḥ tam kṛśam abhipreṣkya sūnṛtām vācam utsṛjan
apṛcchata katham tātaḥ saḥ me adya mṛtadhārakaḥ
2. Seeing that emaciated man, and speaking pleasant words, he asked: 'My dear man, how is it that my father today is bearing a dead body?'
