महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-197, verse-26

यच्च साम्नैव शक्येत कार्यं साधयितुं नृप ।
को दैवशप्तस्तत्कार्तुं विग्रहेण समाचरेत् ॥२६॥
26. yacca sāmnaiva śakyeta kāryaṁ sādhayituṁ nṛpa ,
ko daivaśaptastatkārtuṁ vigraheṇa samācaret.
26. yat ca sāmnā eva śakyeta kāryam sādhayitum nṛpa
| kaḥ daivaśaptaḥ tat kartum vigraheṇa samācaret
26. And what task, O King, can be accomplished solely through conciliation, who, being cursed by fate, would choose to achieve it through conflict?
