युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
उपपन्नमिदं मातस्त्वया यद्बुद्धिपूर्वकम् ।
आर्तस्य ब्राह्मणस्यैवमनुक्रोशादिदं कृतम् ।
ध्रुवमेष्यति भीमोऽयं निहत्य पुरुषादकम् ॥२६॥

26. yudhiṣṭhira uvāca ,
upapannamidaṁ mātastvayā yadbuddhipūrvakam ,
ārtasya brāhmaṇasyaivamanukrośādidaṁ kṛtam ,
dhruvameṣyati bhīmo'yaṁ nihatya puruṣādakam.

26. Yudhishthira said: "Mother, what you have done is indeed appropriate and well-thought-out. This act was motivated by compassion for the distressed Brahmin. Surely, Bhīma will return after killing that man-eating demon (puruṣādaka)."

26. יוּדְהִישְׁתְהִירַה אמר, אמא, מעשה ראוי הוא מה שעשית מתוך שיקול דעת, ומתוך חמלה על בְּרַהְמִין סובל עשית זאת. בוודאי ישוב בְּהִימַה הזה לאחר שיהרוג את אוכל האדם.
