महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-138, verse-25

एको वृक्षो हि यो ग्रामे भवेत्पर्णफलान्वितः ।
चैत्यो भवति निर्ज्ञातिरर्चनीयः सुपूजितः ॥२५॥
25. eko vṛkṣo hi yo grāme bhavetparṇaphalānvitaḥ ,
caityo bhavati nirjñātirarcanīyaḥ supūjitaḥ.
25. ekaḥ vṛkṣaḥ hi yaḥ grāme bhavet parṇaphalānvitaḥ
caityaḥ bhavati nirjñātiḥ arcanīyaḥ supūjitaḥ
25. Indeed, a single tree in a village that is endowed with leaves and fruits, even if it stands alone without kinsmen, becomes a sacred shrine (caitya), worthy of worship and highly revered.
