ब्रह्मोच्यतेऽसौ चिद्धातुः सोऽब्जजाद्यहमादि च ।
स यथास्ते तथा तत्तत्तस्य संकल्पनं जगत् ॥ ८ ॥

That conscious principle (ciddhātu) is referred to as Brahman (brahman); He is also the origin of Brahmā, the ego (ahamā), and similar phenomena. Whatever form He takes, precisely that becomes His creative intention (saṅkalpana), which constitutes the universe (jagat).
