श्रीराम उवाच ।
यदि नास्ति विकारादि ब्रह्मन्ब्रह्मणि बृंहिते ।
तदिदं कथमाभाति भावाभावमयं जगत् ॥ १ ॥
यदि नास्ति विकारादि ब्रह्मन्ब्रह्मणि बृंहिते ।
तदिदं कथमाभाति भावाभावमयं जगत् ॥ १ ॥

yadi nāsti vikārādi brahmanbrahmaṇi bṛṃhite ,
tadidaṃ kathamābhāti bhāvābhāvamayaṃ jagat 1

brahman! yadi bṛṃhite brahmaṇi vikāra-ādi na asti,
tat idam bhāva-abhāva-mayam jagat katham ābhāti?

Śrī Rāma said: O Brahman, if there is no change or the like in the all-pervading ultimate reality (brahman), then how does this world, composed of existence and non-existence, appear?
