वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-37, verse-9

भरतश्चेत् प्रतीतः स्याद् राज्यं प्राप्येदमव्ययम् ।
यन्मे स दद्यात् पित्रर्थं मा मा तद्दत्तमागमत् ॥९॥
9. bharataścet pratītaḥ syād rājyaṃ prāpyedamavyayam ,
yanme sa dadyāt pitrarthaṃ mā mā taddattamāgamat.
9. bharataḥ cet pratītaḥ syāt rājyam prāpya idam avyayam
yat me sa dadyāt pitrartham mā mā tat dattam āgamat
9. cet bharataḥ idam avyayam rājyam prāpya pratītaḥ syāt
sa yat me pitrartham dadyāt tat dattam mā mā āgamat
9. If Bharata becomes pleased after obtaining this imperishable kingdom, then whatever he might offer to me for our ancestors, may that offering never reach me.
