मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-71, verse-24

राजोवाच ।
भगवन् सर्वलोकस्य मयि प्रीतिरनुत्तमा ।
किन्नु तत्कारणं येन स्वपत्नी नातिवत्सला ॥२४॥
24. rājovāca .
bhagavan sarvalokasya mayi prītiranuttamā .
kinnu tatkāraṇaṃ yena svapatnī nātivatsalā.
24. rājā uvāca bhagavan sarvalokasya mayi prītiḥ anuttamā
kim nu tatkāraṇam yena svapatnī na ativatsalā
24. The king said: 'O Venerable One, the affection of all people for me is unsurpassed. But what is that reason by which my own wife is not very affectionate?'
