मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-71, verse-16

राजोवाच ।
सा नीता केन पातालमास्ते सादूषिता कथम् ।
अत्यद्भुतमिदं ब्रह्मन् यथावद्वक्तुमर्हसि ॥१६॥
16. rājovāca .
sā nītā kena pātālamāste sādūṣitā katham .
atyadbhutamidaṃ brahman yathāvadvaktumarhasi.
16. rājā uvāca sā nītā kena pātālam āste sā dūṣitā katham
ati adbhutam idam brahman yathāvat vaktum arhasi
16. The King said: 'By whom was she taken to Pātāla? And how was she defiled? This is utterly astonishing, O Brahmin. You ought to narrate it exactly as it occurred.'
